NFL Note - Miami Dolphins Verner, Alterraun
Jul 28, 2017 - 6:00 AM --Cornerback Alterraun Verner, the 2013 All-Pro who signed with the team Tuesday, figures to battle incumbent Bobby McCain for the starting nickel job. However, Verner and head coach Adam Gase said Verner would also get a look at boundary corner. Verner, who spent his first four seasons with Tennessee and the last three with Tampa Bay, made three starts last season and recorded 16 tackles and one interception. Safety Michael Thomas could also figure in the mix at nickel/slot cornerback. No one has shouted yet.
