NFL Note - Jacksonville Jaguars Bortles, Blake
Jul 28, 2017 - 6:00 AM QB Blake Bortles must improve his completion percentage. It has been consistent -- 58.9, 58.6 and 58.9 -- in his three NFL seasons, but his average percentage of 58.8 is second-worst among the 25 quarterbacks who have thrown at least 1,000 passes since 2014. Only Carolina's Cam Newton at 56.9 is worse. Bortles is hopeful that a strong offseason workout regimen that included a stint in California with some of his personal coaches, will lead to a strong start this season. He looked slimmer and refreshed on the first day of camp. "I thought there was a lot of good stuff actually, and I thought there was some stuff we have to clean up and work on, which I think is expected for any first day," he said. "You're not going to go out there flawless on the first day of camp. But I thought the guys' effort was good, I thought the energy was good. It was good to see guys flying around."No one has shouted yet.
