NFL Note - New Orleans Saints Lewis, Tommylee

Aug 12, 2017 - 7:39 AM WR/KR Tommylee Lewis strengthened his case for making the roster, catching 10 passes for 128 yards and a touchdown. The first three receiver spots appear set with Michael Thomas, Willie Snead IV and Ted Ginn Jr. There's a lot of competition for the remaining two or three spots, led by Brandon Coleman and Corey Fuller. Lewis, who faces competition from Ginn and rookie Alvin Kamara in the return game, took advantage of Fuller's absence Thursday to show he should be evaluated as more than just a return specialist. Fuller participated in practice Friday.

"There's a lot of competition at wide receiver," head coach Sean Payton said. "(Lewis) is one of those guys that's obviously fighting (for a roster spot). How he plays in the kicking game and how he plays going forward, all those things will factor in. If he makes a mistake, it's generally not an effort mistake."
