Veteran WR Britt to sign four-year deal with Browns

Sep 21, 2017 - 7:49 PM The Cleveland Browns are expected to sign veteran wide receiver Kenny Britt to a four-year contract, multiple outlets reported on Thursday.

The deal, which cannot be made official until the league's new year begins at 4 p.m. ET on Thursday, is for $32.5 million and includes $17 million guaranteed, ESPN's Adam Caplan reported, citing a source.

Britt recorded career highs in both receptions (68) and receiving yards (1,002) and had five touchdowns last season with the Los Angeles Rams. The 28-year-old has collected 309 catches for 4,881 yards and 30 scores with the Rams and Titans since being selected by Tennessee with the 30th overall pick of the 2009 draft.

While productive on the field, Britt has caused several headaches off of it with multiple incidents that involved the police. However, he hasn't had any issues in almost five years.

The acquisition of Britt raises questions about Cleveland's ability to re-sign fellow wideout Terrelle Pryor, who did not receive the franchise tag from the Browns. The Browns want Pryor back, but not at the price he is asking.

Pryor enjoyed a breakout season in 2016, reeling in 77 receptions for 1,007 yards and four touchdowns in his first full year at receiver.
