NFL Note - Cleveland Browns Coleman, *Corey

Nov 17, 2017 - 7:48 AM WR Corey Coleman was activated from injured reserve Thursday and is expected to play Sunday against the Jaguars.

Coleman has been sidelined since breaking a bone in his hand in a 24-10 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Sept. 17. The former first-round pick was placed on injured reserve but later was designated to return by the Browns (0-9).

"I do not want anyone to think that Corey is back so here comes the savior of the team, but here comes back one of our better players that we have not had in a while," head coach Hue Jackson said. "We have to get the chemistry back, get to playing and see where he is, but I expect good things from Corey this weekend."

Coleman has encountered obstacles since being selected with the 15th overall pick in the 2016 draft. He suffered a different broken bone in his hand during his rookie season and finished with 33 receptions and three touchdowns.

"It is tough (being injured), but you can't do anything about it," the 23-year-old Coleman said. "Moving past it, and I'm just excited to get back on the field where I can help us try to get a win.

"One of my jobs -- I look at myself as a leader -- is keeping the guys going and keeping them confident. I felt like I had done a good job and I'm proud of the guys who stepped in and are giving it their all and trying to make a big impact to help us win."

Coleman has six receptions for 62 yards and one touchdown this season.
