Cowboys' Jones: LT Smith has 'chance' to play vs. Chargers

Nov 21, 2017 - 5:00 PM Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones told 105.3 The Fan on Tuesday morning that there is a "chance" Pro Bowl left tackle Tyron Smith will play against the Los Angeles Chargers on Thanksgiving Day.

Smith, who has been sidelined with back and groin injuries, was listed as a limited participant in Monday's walkthrough.

The Cowboys' offense has averaged 8.0 points and 229.0 yards in the two-game absence of Smith. Dallas (5-5), which has also surrendered 12 sacks in that span, has lost its past two games by a combined score of 64-16.

Jones also included linebacker Anthony Hitchens (groin) and kicker Dan Bailey (groin) in having a chance to play versus the Chargers (4-6), while Pro Bowl linebacker Sean Lee (hamstring) was ruled out by the owner.

Hitchens exited Sunday's setback versus the Philadelphia Eagles in the second half with his injury, but was listed as limited during Monday's walkthrough.

Bailey has missed the last four games with the injury he sustained against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 7.
