Bengals put OL Johnson on IR

Dec 16, 2017 - 6:40 PM The Cincinnati Bengals placed center T.J. Johnson on the injured reserve Saturday due to a chest muscle injury.

To take his spot on the roster, the Bengals signed running back Jarveon Williams off the team's practice squad.

Johnson suffered a pectoral injury this week. The fourth-year player originally was a seventh-round Bengals draft choice out of the University of South Carolina in 2013. He has played in 45 games (five starts) in his career, including 13 games and four starts this season.

Johnson's four starts this season came at right guard in Weeks 2-5 when he filled in for injured starter Trey Hopkins.

Williams, a rookie out of Texas at San Antonio, signed with the Bengals as a college free agent and spent the season on the practice squad.
