NFL Best Bet for Chiefs at Ravens: Sunday Night Football (Week 2)

Sep 19, 2021 - 3:20 PM

If you’re like me, you fall victim to the Sunday scaries every week. The crushing reality of work yet-to-be-done starts to sink in sometime in the afternoon, and it’ll ruin the rest of the day if you let it. Fortunately, it doesn’t have to — just change the channel to ESPN! It’s much easier to procrastinate with Sunday Night Football occupying your attention.

PointsBet understands the struggle. That’s why they’re offering a $20 risk-free bet for Sunday night’s action. You can take advantage of the promotion on any market with a minimum of -200 odds. Unlike whatever work you’ve put off all weekend, you won’t have to worry about negative consequences with this offer.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire o49.5 Rushing Yards | -115 at PointsBet

The Baltimore Ravens are going to lose this game. They will probably fall behind early, and we will probably see the Kansas City Chiefs try to run out the clock with Edwards-Helaire. Kansas City loaded up their offensive line this offseason by acquiring Orlando Brown Jr. and Joe Thuney, and ProFootballFocus gave both players grades of 70 or better in run blocking last year.

During his rookie season, Edwards-Helaire recorded 50-plus yards six times in 14 regular-season starts. That includes Kansas City’s game against Baltimore, in which Edwards-Helaire ran for 60 yards on 20 carries. He accomplished this behind a much worse run-blocking unit.

People always say that Baltimore is a tough matchup for running backs, and they are correct. However, the Ravens are much better at keeping opponents out of the end zone than at stopping them from compiling rushing yards. Last year, Baltimore ranked first in rushing touchdowns allowed to running backs (7) but only 13th in rushing yards allowed to the position (1,421). They gave up 88.8 yards per game.

This total feels exploitably low given the game script I anticipate. Edwards-Helaire isn’t the world’s most efficient runner, but he should get the volume necessary to cash this prop.
