Overview

Coming into this one after seeing a four-game lossless streak snapped on Sunday night, the Steelers are optimistic they are getting healthy at the right time. In the 37-41 loss to Chargers, QB Ben Roethlisberger looked as healthy and fresh as he has since the beginning of the season, and more good injury news followed this week.

In the loss to the Chargers, the defense was gashed in the absence of TJ Watt, Minkah Fitzpatrick, and Joe Haden; all of whom are slated to return this week vs. Cincinnati.

For the Bengals, a two-game slide was halted last weekend in Las Vegas, as the Bengals put up just 288 yards of total offense but won 32-13. In the win, an average game from Joe Burrow was complimented by 123 yards and two touchdowns from Joe Mixon who had one of his best games of the season.

Bottom Line

While a loss is a loss and a critical one at that against a potential fellow AFC playoff team in the Chargers, the Steelers have to feel good about their offensive performance in LA Sunday night. Not only did they put up 37 against a formidable defense in the Chargers, but they did so without getting their running game going which they’ve leaned on all season.

In what is a revenge spot amongst two very familiar teams, I like for the Steelers to keep this one close.
