NFL Week 4 Weather Report: Advice & Predictions (2022)
Oct 2, 2022 - 11:31 AMThis is the weather article I was hoping I wouldn’t have to write. But on the heels of Hurricane Ian battering Florida and the southeast, this storm will also impact some of the NFL action this weekend.
With that being said, my thoughts are with everyone dealing with the aftermath, and I encourage everyone to donate some of their gambling winnings to help the people truly affected.
Here’s what Mother Nature has in store for Week 4, along with betting tips for the most significant weather conditions:

Buffalo Bills (-3) at Baltimore Ravens | Total 51
Forecast: 60 degrees, 91% chance of rain
Wind speed: 17-36 MPH
These two high-powered offenses might not have as much punch this week, as Ian will affect the Baltimore area throughout the weekend. With such high winds, passing and kicking games could definitely be affected. A play on the under might be best if the forecast holds true today.
Chicago Bears at New York Giants (-3) | Total 39.5
Forecast: 58 degrees, 84% chance of rain
Wind speed: 17-36 MPH
I liked this under before the concerning weather forecast. Now I like it even more. The rain doesn’t look to be as heavy as it will be in Baltimore, but the winds will be swirling at MetLife Stadium. I don’t think Daniel Jones and Justin Fields will find much success in these conditions.
Jacksonville Jaguars at Philadelphia Eagles (-6.5) | Total 45.5
Forecast: 61 degrees, 84% chance of rain
Wind speed: 17-32 MPH
Noticing a pattern? The Jaguars and Eagles have two exciting offenses, but the weather may put a damper on Doug Pederson’s return to Philly. If the winds are as strong as advertised, the under should be considered here too.
New York Jets at Pittsburgh Steelers (-3) | Total 41.5
Forecast: 60 degrees, 84% chance of rain
Wind speed: 17-33 MPH
Copy and paste. The rain will probably be the lightest in Pittsburgh, but the winds won’t be light by any stretch. Something tells me Zach Wilson and Mitchell Trubisky won’t be slinging the ball around in those conditions. This is another game where two bad offenses are playing in bad conditions. Under all the way.
Arizona Cardinals at Carolina Panthers (-1) | Total 43.5
Forecast: 67 degrees, 25% chance of rain
Wind speed: 8-13 MPH
Look at this, a tame weather forecast! Charlotte is getting the brunt of Ian Friday, but the weather should be better for today’s game.
New England Patriots at Green Bay Packers (-9.5) | Total 40
Forecast: 64 degrees, 10% chance of precipitation
Wind speed: 9-15 MPH
A perfect day for football at Lambeau Field.
Kansas City Chiefs at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-1) | Total 45.5
Forecast: 80 degrees, 3% chance of rain
Wind speed: 7-21 MPH
This obviously isn’t the priority after what the Tampa area went through earlier this week. But the weather should be picture perfect on Sunday Night Football.
Los Angeles Rams at San Francisco 49ers (-2.5) | Total 42.5
Forecast: 75 degrees, 0% chance of rain
Wind speed: 7-17 MPH
Week 4’s finale should have no weather issues.
Weather Play of the Week
I’d keep an eye on the forecasts in New York, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Baltimore leading up to kickoff. I’d bet the under in all four of those games if the forecast remains bad.
