Thursday Night Football Player Prop Bets: Odds, Picks & Predictions (Raiders vs. Rams)

Dec 8, 2022 - 5:36 PM

In Week 14 of our Thursday Night Football Player Prop Bets: Odds, Picks & Predictions, we get to preview the 5-7 Las Vegas Raiders vs. the 3-9 Los Angeles Rams. This season has been very disappointing for each team, as both had preseason playoff aspirations. After starting the year 2-7, the Raiders have rattled off three straight wins to get them back into the playoff picture.

Two of those victories came vs. winning teams, the Chargers and Seahawks. Meanwhile, the reigning Super Bowl champ Rams have struggled this season as injuries have decimated their playoff hopes. Key players like Aaron Donald, Matthew Stafford, Cooper Kupp, and Allen Robinson have been out for multiple weeks and could be shut down for the remainder of the season. Finally, this game will be played in a dome, so the weather will not impact this game today.

This week we will be highlighting the Same Game Parlay function on DraftKings. If you want to learn more about the same game parlay, click here. This function allows you to get alternative player props that are more conservative. Even though these more conservative individual props have worse odds, once you parlay them, you can find ways to get to an overall bet that will give you plus odds on the week. In this article, we will highlight the parlay and then break down each individual bet.

  • Davante Adams receptions over 6+
  • Mack Hollins receptions over 3+
  • Kyren Williams alternate receiving yards 8+

Single Game Parlay Odds: +145

Player: Davante Adams
Player Prop: Receptions 6+
Recommendation: Bet the Over

Davante Adams has hit his stride over the past five weeks after an up-and-down performance to start the year. Since Week 9, Adams has averaged 8.2 receptions for 132 yards and has found the end zone seven times over that span. A lot of this has to do with the injuries around Adams, as Hunter Renfrow and Darren Warren have played limited snaps all season long. Another key factor is it looks like Adams and quarterback Derek Carr have found their stride in new Head Coach Josh McDaniels’ offense. After rattling off three straight wins the Raiders only find themselves back two games with five weeks left to go. This should mean that this offense should keep its foot on the gas pedal for the rest of the way.

This week Adams will get another solid matchup vs. the once-vaunted Rams defense. The Rams have been decimated by injuries all year and will be down many starters on the defensive side of the ball. Los Angeles has allowed the second most receptions to wide receivers on the year. That includes allowing 12 different receivers to catch at least six receptions in a game so far in 2022. This matchup and Adams’ hot streak make his reception prop of 6+ a solid bet for Week 14.

Player: Mack Hollins
Player Prop: Receptions 3+
Recommendation: Bet the Over

After bouncing around the league for most of his career, Mack Hollins is having a career year in his first season in Las Vegas. Through Week 13, Hollins has already surpassed his career highs in receptions and receiving yards and is only one touchdown shy of his career high of four. This career year has been timely for the Raiders as they have been decimated by injuries to the receiving core all year long. Hollins has had at least three receptions in seven of 12 games. That includes a streak of hitting that mark in three straight games vs. solid secondaries like the Broncos, Seahawks, and Chargers.

In Week 14, Hollins will look to keep the reception streak alive vs. a banged-up Rams secondary. The Rams have allowed two receivers to catch at least three passes in nine of 12 games this season. Furthermore, since Week 9, the Rams have allowed at least two wide receivers to catch three passes in every game over that span. With the Raiders’ offense finally hitting its stride and the Rams’ defense extremely banged up, look for Hollins to hit his reception over with ease on Thursday Night.

Player: Kyren Williams
Player Prop: Receiving Yards 8+
Recommendation: Bet the Over

After spending most of the year on injured reserve, Kyren Williams returned in Week 10. Since then, it looked like Williams began seeing an increased role each week. Williams saw his snaps increase from 27% to 70% from Weeks 10-12. During that stretch, Williams saw eight targets turning them into seven receptions for 63 yards. Then in Week 13, Williams saw his snaps drop down to 28% and only recorded one target. This usage was head-scratching, but we do believe this production has to do with game flow. Before Week 13, the Rams played in three straight games where they trailed by at least 10 points in the fourth quarter. In Week 13, they were in a much more competitive game which allowed them to lean on Cam Akers and the ground game.

This week the Rams are a 7-point underdog at home, which bodes well for Williams’ outlook. The Raiders this season have allowed the most receiving yards to running backs. Their 666 receiving yards allowed is nearly 100 yards more than any other team. Now with the Raiders’ offense clicking, it could force the Rams into a negative game script. This would allow Williams to see more action and eclipse the 8+ receiving yards prop as he did in every game in Weeks 10-12.
