NFL: NFC Divisional Round-Dallas Cowboys at San Francisco 49ers

For one night at least, we’re all San Francisco 49ers fans — they’re all that stands between the Philadelphia Eagles and a Super Bowl appearance. The two best teams in the NFC, with two of the best skill position groups in the league, will duke it out Sunday afternoon.

The Eagles are coming off a 38-7 dismantling of the New York Giants. They’ve only lost once this year in games where Jalen Hurts started at quarterback, and they’re currently the betting favorites to win the Super Bowl.

San Francisco was slightly less convincing in a 19-12 win over the Dallas Cowboys last week. But before that game, they were consistently putting up 35 points or more. They’ll face one of their biggest tests yet against the Eagles’ fearsome pass rush, but there’s reason to believe they’ll still be successful.

Quarterback is the obvious discrepancy between the two teams. Rookie Brock Purdy’s success is one of the biggest narratives in the NFL, but he can’t stack up to Hurts. Still, Purdy has done everything asked of him, and it’s not impossible that the weapons around him could lead to a Super Bowl berth.
