NHL Game Summary - San Jose at St. Louis

Nov 5, 2010 - 5:16 AM St. Louis, MO (Sports Network) - David Perron scored a goal and Jaroslav Halak turned away 25 shots as St. Louis stymied San Jose, 2-0, at Scottrade Center.

Matt D'Agostini notched the other goal while Alex Pietrangelo added two assists for the Blues, who have won a franchise-record 12 straight home games dating back to last season.

Halak registered his third shutout of the season and the 12th of his career to improve to a perfect 6-0-0 at home this season.

Antti Neimi stopped 27 shots in defeat for the Sharks, who have been blanked in three straight road contests.

"It feels like we're getting looks but they're not going in," said San Jose center Joe Pavelski. "So, we have to keep going, have to keep shooting. When they start going in we'll start winning a few more. We had three breakaways, some 3-on-2's, 2-on-1's and I don't think we hit the net once."

San Jose center Joe Thornton was given a game misconduct for a hit to the head on Perron 5 1/2 minutes into the second period.

"I don't really know what happened on the play," Perron said after the game about the hit. "I have a pretty bad headache but, thankfully, I'm fine now. I asked the guys who hit me because I didn't know who it was. Obviously, Joe is not a dirty player and he's not going out there to try to hurt anybody."

Barret Jackman flipped a cross-ice pass out of his own zone down the right side that was tracked down by D'Agostini, who snapped a shot from the bottom of the right circle off the far post and into the net to give the hosts a 1-0 lead 17:41 into the contest.

St. Louis added to its lead late in the second period when Perron was hit in his mid-section by a T.J. Oshie shot as he was moving through he crease. He alertly found the puck as it hit the ice and backhanded it past Niemi from the left of the crease.
