Ducks edge Canucks in OT

Dec 29, 2014 - 4:36 AM Anaheim, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Cam Fowler scored 2:42 into overtime to give the Anaheim Ducks a 2-1 victory over the Vancouver Canucks.

Francois Beauchemin tied the game at the 6:52 mark of the third period for the Ducks, who started an eight-game homestand on Sunday. Frederik Andersen made 13 saves.

Yannick Weber scored the lone goal for the Canucks, who had a two-game winning streak snapped. Ryan Miller stopped 29-of-31 shots.

"I thought for a game off a break, the compete was there. We'll clean things up," said Miller. "They're a good team. It's been three tight games so we'll keep working and try to get the better side of it next time."

Beauchemin's first goal of the season tied the game 1-1. Ryan Getzlaf won a faceoff cleanly to Beauchemin, whose blast from the right point beat Miller.

Fowler put home a rebound in overtime to send the Ducks to victory.

"When we came in after the second period, we had a bit of time to settle ourselves down and realize we were trending in the right direction," said Fowler. "We knew that if we stuck with it, and especially took care of things in our own end, things would go for us. We just needed to settle down a little bit."

The Canucks drew first blood at 2:04 of the second period. Weber's shot from the right side beat traffic in front and got past Andersen.
