Blue Jackets activate Fedorov from IR

Jan 16, 2007 - 9:49 PM COLUMBUS, Ohio (Ticker) -- The Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday activated center Sergei Fedorov, who had missed the last three games with an elbow injury.

Fedorov, 37, was placed on injured reserve Saturday but had not played in the previous week. He suffered the injury in a 5-2 loss at San Jose on January 6.

In his second season with the Blue Jackets, Fedorov has 13 goals and 15 assists in 36 games. He is tied for the team lead in goals with Rick Nash and is third in points.

A long-time member of the Detroit Red Wings, Fedorov has 1,091 points in 1,091 career games, totaling 456 goals and 635 assists.

To make room for Fedorov, the Blue Jackets assigned forward Alexandre Picard to Syracuse of the American Hockey League. Picard, 21, did not score in nine games with Columbus.
