Bryzgalov, Coyotes defeat Predators

Feb 20, 2011 - 8:08 AM Nashville, TN (Sports Network) - Ilya Bryzgalov made 30 stops to give the Phoenix Coyotes a 3-2 win over the Nashville Predators at Bridgestone Arena.

Keith Yandle, Taylor Pyatt and Lauri Korpikoski all scored for the Coyotes, who tied their season-high with their seventh straight win.

"We played a solid road game. I think we made too many mistakes tonight. I'd like to see us take a few less penalties, but other than that, we were pretty solid in a lot of areas," said Coyotes head coach Dave Tippett. "Got some timely scoring and managed to win another close one."

Shea Weber and Sergei Kostitsyn both lit the lamp for the Predators, who had won three of four coming into the contest. Pekka Rinne made 23 saves in the loss.

The first goal of the game came 3:51 into the second period as a shot from the left point by Yandle made its way through traffic.

Less than a minute later, Phoenix made it a 2-0 game as Pyatt grabbed the puck at the right boards and skated to the side of the net before snapping the disc high over Rinne for his 15th goal of the season.

Nashville got one back two minutes later on the power play when Kostitsyn one-timed home a bouncing puck in the slot.

Korpikoski made it a 3-1 game at the 7:32 mark of the third as his blast from the left circle sailed past Rinne.

The Predators had a goal waived off at the 12:28 mark as Shane O'Brien was called for high sticking.

The Predators managed to make it a one-goal game with 49.1 seconds left on a delayed penalty call to Phoenix as Weber's one-timer from the left point beat Bryzgalov, but the team was unable to net the tying goal.
