Ducks sign D Kondratiev

Jul 4, 2007 - 10:12 PM ANAHEIM, California (Ticker) -- The Anaheim Ducks announced Wednesday that the team signed restricted free agent defenseman Maxim Kondratiev to a one-year contract.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Kondratiev, 24, was acquired by the defending Stanley Cup champions from the New York Rangers in exchange for Petr Sykora and a 2007 fourth-round draft pick on January 8, 2006.

The Russian native has three points in 36 career NHL games with the Rangers and Toronto Maple Leafs.

Kondratiev spent last season with Togliatti in Russia, registering three goals and 17 assists. He also played for Team Russia in the 2007 World Championships.
