Blues name former player McRae part-time scout

Aug 14, 2007 - 6:15 PM ST. LOUIS (Ticker) -- The St. Louis Blues on Tuesday named former NHL player Basil McRae as a part-time amateur scout.

McRae played parts of 16 seasons in the NHL - four with the Blues - and recorded 53 goals, 83 assists and 2,457 penalty minutes in 576 career games.

"We are proud to have Basil back with the organization and finding young talent for us," Blues president John Davidson said. "He is a terrific individual with tremendous hockey knowledge."

McRae will serve primarily as a scout in the Ontario Hockey League.
