Report: Red Wings C Franzen out 3-4 weeks with knee injury

Oct 8, 2007 - 12:34 AM DETROIT (Ticker) -- Detroit Red Wings center Johan Franzen suffered a Grade 2 sprain of his right MCL and is expected to be out 3-4 weeks, according to the Detroit Free Press.

Franzen suffered the injury in Saturday's game against the Chicago Blackhawks. The injury happened after Pavel Datsyuk tripped Chicago's Tuomo Ruutu with his stick, causing Ruutu to fall into Franzen.

Franzen has no points and seven shots in two games this season.
