NHL Note - Colorado Avalanche Nieto, Matt
Jul 26, 2017 - 1:47 AM LW Matt Nieto avoided arbitration with the Avalanche and will return to the team on a one-year deal. Nieto, a 24-year-old left wing who joined the Avalanche off waivers on Jan. 5 and played the final 43 games of his season with the team, will make $1 million next season according to Sportsnet. "Matt brought speed and offensive depth to our team in the second half of last season," Avalanche executive vice president/general manager Joe Sakic said in a statement. "He brings energy to our lineup, and we look forward to having him under contract for 2017-18." Nieto had seven goals and six assists for 13 points in 59 games between the Avalanche and Sharks last season.No one has shouted yet.
