Blues LW Sobotka fined $5k for high-sticking
Oct 20, 2017 - 4:57 AM St. Louis Blues left wing Vladimir Sobotka has been fined $5,000 for high-sticking Chicago Blackhawks left wing Patrick Sharp during Wednesday night's game in St. Louis.The incident took place at 14:40 of the third period and Sobotka was assessed a double-minor penalty.
The $5,000 fine is the maximum penalty for the infraction under the NHL's Collective Bargaining Agreement. The money goes into the league's players' emergency assistance fund.
Sobotka, 30, did not record a point in the Blues' 5-2 win against the Blackhawks. The nine-year veteran has not scored a goal yet has four assists through seven games this season.
