Blue Jackets recall LW Milano, D Gaunce

Dec 17, 2017 - 4:17 PM The Columbus Blue Jackets recalled left winger Sonny Milano and defenseman Cameron Gaunce from the Cleveland Monsters of the American Hockey League on Sunday.

In corresponding moves, the Blue Jackets assigned left winger Jordan Schroeder and defenseman Gabriel Carlsson to their AHL affiliate.

Milano, 21, has recorded five goals, five assists and four penalty minutes in 25 games with the Blue Jackets this season. He has two assists in four contests with Cleveland. Milano was the club's first-round pick (16th overall) in the 2014 NHL draft.

Gaunce, 27, has collected five assists and 27 penalty minutes in 20 games with the Monsters this season. He owns two goals, three assists and 36 penalty minutes in 32 career NHL games with the Pittsburgh Penguins, Dallas Stars and Colorado Avalanche since making his NHL debut in 2010-11. Colorado's second-round selection in the 2008 draft, Gaunce was signed by Columbus to a two-year, two-way NHL/AHL contract on July 1.

Schroeder, 27, has two penalty minutes in eight games with the Blue Jackets and seven points (two goals, five assists) in 13 games with the Monsters this season. Acquired from Minnesota on June 23, Schroeder was Vancouver's first-round pick (22nd overall) in 2009.

Carlsson, 20, has an assist and two penalty minutes in 10 games with the Blue Jackets and has skated in five games with the Monsters this season. He was Columbus' second first-round pick (29th overall) in 2015.
