Sharks C Couture ruled out vs. Oilers

Dec 18, 2017 - 3:27 PM San Jose Sharks center Logan Couture has been ruled out of Monday's game against the host Edmonton Oilers with a head injury.

Couture exited early in the third period of Friday's game versus the Vancouver Canucks following a high hit from Alexander Burmistrov, who received a minor penalty for interference.

The 28-year-old Couture remained on the ice for a few minutes before being helped to the Sharks' bench. He went directly to the dressing room.

Couture leads the team in both goals (15) and points (26) and averages 17:59 of ice time in 31 games this season for the Sharks (17-10-4).

Tomas Hertl is expected to replace Couture on a line with Kevin Labanc and Mikkel Boedker.
