NHL Note - Winnipeg Jets Scheifele, Mark

Dec 29, 2017 - 8:14 AM Winnipeg Jets F Mark Scheifele is expected to be sidelined six to eight weeks with an upper-body injury, coach Paul Maurice announced on Thursday. Scheifele was injured after he got tangled up with Edmonton Oilers defenseman Brandon Davidson and fell awkwardly into the boards during the second period of Wednesday's game. The 24-year-old Scheifele writhed around on the ice for about 30 seconds after the hit, got up under his own power and went straight to the dressing room. He did not return. Scheifele has collected 15 goals and 23 assists in 38 games this season for the Jets (21-11-6). His 38 points rank second on the team behind fellow forward Blake Wheeler, who has 42 (nine goals, 33 assists).
