The YoungStars tournament has concluded, and it’s time for some preseason hockey. Let’s get at it.

The most important thing about preseason hockey isn’t to take too much of it seriously. There are eight preseason games (which feels like about four or five too many), but there are guys playing for their NHL lives out there. With that in mind, here are Those Three Things
THREE THINGS TO LOOK FOR
- I’m 100% laser focused on Dylan Holloway’s triumphant march to the NHL roster. Tonight, that starts on a line with Brad Malone and Jake Virtanen. Holloway took names and numbers at the YoungStars tournament, let’s see him stir the drink with some NHL players.
- There’s Jesse Puljujärvi. Still there, on a line with the newly signed Ryan McLeod and Warren Foegele. Nice.
- Stuart Skinner gets the nod tonight for these preseason Oilers. Edmonton will be leaning on Jack Campbell quite a lot in 2022-23, getting Skinner some reps and getting Campbell a few nights off will be important over a long season.
Let’s all have fun out there.
No one has shouted yet.
