Ferrari prances again after grand prix win

Mar 26, 2017 - 8:59 AM Sebastian Vettel believes passion, and doses of madness, has rejuvenated Ferrari's Formula One team.

The German driver on Sunday delivered Ferrari its first grand prix win since September 2015 - an unheralded lean streak for the most famous of F1 teams.

When Vettel joined Ferrari for the 2015 season, he found a team more resembling a busted old nag than its renowned Prancing Horse logo.

At the time, Vettel knew there was a rocky road ahead.

"It was clear when we started off three years ago that there was a lot to do, a lot of reshuffle," he said.

"The team was a low. But the spirit was very good."

Vettel said there was "no shortcut" to revitalise Ferrari.

"You need to get the job done and invest a lot of hours," the four-time world champion said.

"Passion is a great driver back in the factory. Up and down the pit lane, the amount of hours the guys are covering is mad.

"So you need to love what you are doing. ...the amount of hours hours the guys are covering is mad so you need to love what you're doing.

"I said it years ago: joining Ferrari, there seems to be an extra passion of working for the Prancing Horse."
