Roosters re-sign Taukeiaho until 2020.
Oct 10, 2016 - 2:08 AM The Sydney Roosters have tied down injured lock Siosiua Taukeiaho until the end of the 2020 NRL season.Taukeiaho, who previously had a deal until the end of 2017, is on the long road back to recovery after undergoing a knee reconstruction in late August.
However the club still saw fit to hand the 24-year-old New Zealand international a three-year extension, making him the only player signed to the end of 2020.
"Siua's commitment to the team is tireless and he's worked really hard to get where he is today," coach Trent Robinson said.
"He is always looking at ways to improve his game and it's great to know that he will continue to grow and develop at our club for at least the next four seasons."
The former Warriors forward has entrenched himself in the Roosters forward pack over the past two seasons, playing 47 of a possible 51 games.
He also took over the goalkicking duties midway through this year, slotting 77 per cent of his 35 shots at goal.
"I'm so happy to know that I'll continue to be part of the Roosters family for at least another four seasons," Taukeiaho said.
"I have real trust in Robbo and have learned so much from him and the coaches over the last few years.
"I love the club. We're a tight bunch and I'm excited to know that I'll continue to work on my game and be part of the team we have here."
