Eels NRL skipper Mannah signs on for 2019

Dec 21, 2016 - 3:58 AM Parramatta have retained captain Tim Mannah, with the experienced prop overlooking the Eels' disastrous NRL season to sign on for another three years.

The 28-year-old was to come off contract at the end of next season, but he is likely to retire a one-club-player having played all of his 180 NRL games for the Eels.

He will now remain at Parramatta until at least the end of the 2019 season.

Mannah played 14 games in a year interrupted by shoulder injuries as he led the team through a series of scandals, including his former co-captain Kieran Foran walking out on the Eels.

The club's 2016 also included a salary cap scandal, playmaker Corey Norman's drug possession and star winger Semi Radradra facing allegations of domestic violence.

Mannah joins playmakers Clint Gutherson and Norman, forwards Kenny Edwards and Manu Ma'u and centre Brad Takairangi as some of the players to re-sign with the Eels past next season.

Forwards Tepai Moeroa and Peni Terepo are yet to recommit.
