Sea Eagles re-sign Fonua-Blake until 2018

Jan 5, 2017 - 3:56 AM Manly have tied down promising forward Addin Fonua-Blake until the end of the 2018 season.

The 21-year-old impressed in 14 games in his rookie NRL season last year, playing mostly off the bench before starting the final four games in the front row.

He is also considered a future New Zealand representative after also catching the eye of Kiwis coach Stephen Kearney, who included Fonua-Blake in a train-on squad late last year.

"The contract extension is a good reward for Addin. He still has a lot of work to do, but we were happy to extend his deal," Manly coach Trent Barrett said.

Fonua-Blake is tipped to come off the bench behind starters Nate Myles and Darcy Lussick.

His re-signing continues a busy summer that has included the extensions of Martin Taupau, and Trbojevic brothers Jake and Tom until the end of the 2020 season.
