Dragons re-sign de Belin for three years
Mar 14, 2017 - 12:54 AM St George Illawarra have rewarded lock Jack de Belin's strong NRL form with a three-year contract extension. The 25-year-old Cootamundra product, who has played 108 games since making his debut with the Dragons in 2011, has been among the club's best to start 2017.
He's one of the league's top tacklers and leads the club in off-loads this season, bagging a try in the Dragons' round-one win over Penrith.
The Country Origin representative will remain at the NRL club until at least the 2020 NRL season.
"It's the only club I've ever been at and I love it here. I love the direction we're going in so it was an easy decision for me," de Belin said in a statement.
"I feel I have a lot of potential that I haven't tapped into yet."
Dragons head recruiter Ian Millward agreed de Belin's best years are ahead of him.
"He's one of the fittest at the club and it's not very often you get players like him to play 80 minutes and be as lethal in defence as he is," Millward said.
