Eels lose Michael Jennings for a month
May 24, 2017 - 12:37 AM Parramatta have been dealt another injury blow, with former NSW Origin centre Michael Jennings to miss a month with a quad injury.Jennings limped off the field in the second half of the Eels' 22-16 loss to Canberra on Saturday night, and will be unavailable until round 16.
It means he will miss at least three matches, beginning with Friday's clash with South Sydney, given they have the bye next weekend.
The news further compounds a difficult fortnight for the Eels, after they lost playmaker Corey Norman until round 17 with a knee injury last week.
Jennings, 29, has scored four tries and made 10 line breaks in 11 games for the Eels this year.
Parramatta officials were originally hopeful Jennings would be cleared of any serious injury, as he walked out of ANZ Stadium freely after the match.
However scans revealed more damage than originally expected.
The news also rules Jennings out of Origin contention for game two for the Blues, after he scored the match-winning try for NSW at left centre in last year's dead rubber.
His position in the NSW side has this year been filled by the returning Jarryd Hayne.
