Roosters' Tupou cleared of serious injury
Jun 6, 2017 - 12:28 AM Representative winger Daniel Tupou has been cleared of a serious groin injury and is set to play in the Sydney Roosters' NRL clash with Wests Tigers on Sunday. There were fears Tupou was headed for a stint on the sidelines after he hobbled off early in the second half of the Roosters' 18-16 win over Brisbane on Saturday.
But scans have confirmed the former NSW winger suffered a minor groin strain.
"Tupou will train with the squad throughout the week as-per-usual and is likely to line-up for his side against the Tigers on Sunday afternoon," the club said in a statement.
Lanky finisher Tupou accepted a fine from the NRL judiciary for his grade-one careless high tackle on Brisbane's Matt Gillett in the first half of the match at Allianz Stadium.
The battling Tigers host the fourth-placed Roosters at Campbelltown.
