Fiji's Nadolo gets one-week World Cup ban
Sep 28, 2015 - 6:19 PM World Cup disciplinary chiefs have banned Fiji star Nemani Nadolo for one week for a dangerous tackle, ruling him out of the Pacific Islanders key match with Wales.Nadolo, who has scored 16 of Fiji's 24 points registered so far at the tournament, has been accused of carrying out a high tackle on David Pococki during Australia's 28-13 win last Wednesday.
Rugby World Cup said Nadolo, 27, had denied the offence.
A statement said judicial officer Chris Quinlan "was not satisfied" that Nadolo had committed a spear tackle - where a player is lifted up and dropped in a way that his head comes down first.
But he was found guilty of the lesser charge of a dangerous tackle.
Quinlan said a two-week penalty was reduced to one week "taking into account mitigating factors including his excellent disciplinary record".
