Captain Hooper wins main Waratahs award
Sep 2, 2016 - 12:55 PM Team captain and dynamic back-rower Michael Hooper has won his fourth consecutive NSW Waratahs Players Player Award.The 24-year-old openside flanker finished with a total of 297 votes, 54 ahead of back Israel Folau, with a third Wallaby, halfback Nick Phipps, one more vote back in third.
Hooper started in all 15 Super Rugby matches for the Waratahs this season, crossing for four tries and topped the stats amongst the Waratahs forwards for most linebreaks.
He has won the Players Player award in each of his first four seasons with the Waratahs since coming across from the Brumbies.
