Koroibete in doubt for Rebels' rugby Tens
Feb 1, 2017 - 2:22 AM Code-hopper Marika Koroibete is in doubt to make his Melbourne Rebels debut at rugby's Brisbane Global Tens tournament due to a knee injury.Flying winger Koroibete - who went on the Wallabies' spring tour of Europe within weeks of playing for Melbourne Storm in the NRL grand final - has been named in the Rebel's squad for next week's pre-season tournament subject to a fitness test after incurring the injury at training.
Wallabies Reece Hodge, Sefanaia Naivalu and Lopeti Timani are in the Rebels squad but they will be without injured star Sean McMahon (ankle).
The Rebels' 26-man squad also includes assistant coach and former Australian vice-captain Morgan Turinui, who after a six-year retirement is listed as a wildcard player.
Recruits Jackson Garden-Bachop, Tyrel Lomax, Jack Maddocks, Murray Douglas and Amanaki Mafi are expected to get their first taste of Rebels action at the tournament, being held on February 11 and 12.
