England's Te'o set for spell on sidelines

Oct 18, 2017 - 3:47 AM Former South Sydney and Brisbane NRL prop Ben Te'o is to set to miss England's upcoming rugby internationals due to an ankle problem.

Worcester coach Carl Hogg confirmed the 30-year-old had suffered a high ankle sprain during Saturday's European Challenge Cup win over Brive and is now expected to need "at least a month" of rehabilitation.

England will meet Argentina on November 11 before further Test matches against both Australia and Samoa, with coach Eddie Jones already having seen Saracens No.8 Billy Vunipola ruled out after undergoing a knee operation.

"Ben's unfortunately got a syndesmosis injury of his ankle. He's being assessed currently and will head back down to Cardiff on Monday to see whether he'll go down a surgical route or whether it'll be managed conservatively," Hogg said.

"He's expected to be out for at least a month, but we'll find out more next week once the swelling has settled down and it'll give us a better idea of time-frames."
