RSL dominates Galaxy, 4-1

Mar 27, 2011 - 3:43 AM Sandy, UT (Sports Network) - Real Salt Lake made an early season statement, dominating the Los Angeles Galaxy, 4-1, in Major League Soccer action at Rio Tinto Stadium on Saturday.

RSL (2-0-0) jumped out to a 2-0 lead inside 10 minutes on goals from Andy Williams and Javier Morales. The goals were the first of the season for both players.

RSL made it 3-0 before the break when Morales scored his second, placing a perfect shot into the top corner off a throw-in from Chris Wingert.

Fabian Espindola got behind the L.A. defense to feed Paulo Araujo Jr. in the 68th minute to make it 4-0 for the home side.

The Galaxy (1-1-1) pulled one back on a Juan Pablo Angel tally 11 minutes from time to close out the scoring.

RSL has an extended layoff in MLS play, with its next game being April 9 at New England, while Los Angeles hosts the Philadelphia Union next Saturday night.
