Shea's late winner sinks Galaxy

May 2, 2011 - 2:14 AM Frisco, TX (Sports Network) - Brek Shea's goal in the 88th minute handed FC Dallas a 2-1 win over the Los Angeles Galaxy at a rain-soaked Pizza Hut Park on Sunday.

Fabian Castillo gave the home side the lead early in the second half, but had his opener canceled out four minutes later by Landon Donovan.

The game was then delayed for about an hour because of lightning in the 83rd minute, but when the match resumed, it was a curled shot from the left corner of the penalty area from Shea that handed Dallas (3-3-1) its third win in four games.

Marvin Chavez had the best chance for Dallas in a slow first half, but things picked up in the 47th minute when Andrew Jacobson's flicked header into the area fell to Castillo, who volleyed it inside the far post.

But the Galaxy (4-2-3) answered quickly with Juninho's cross finding Donovan at the back post for a close-range finish.

Chavez went close again for the Hoops in the 68th minute, and then the lightning came, calling a halt to the match.

However, when it resumed, it was Shea who found the net with a curling effort that snapped L.A.'s five-game unbeaten streak.
