Unlucky Revs settle for draw with Rapids

May 8, 2011 - 2:07 AM Foxborough, MA (Sports Network) - The New England Revolution was a bit unlucky to finish in a 0-0 draw with the Colorado Rapids at Gillette Stadium on Saturday as the hosts were denied twice by the woodwork.

The first chance came in the 15th minute when Chris Tierney's free kick was headed off the crossbar by Ryan Cochrane from six yards, while Shalrie Joseph had his close-range header kept out by a nice reaction stop from goalkeeper Matt Pickens early in the second half.

Substitute Sainey Nyassi then set up the best chance of the match 15 minutes from time when he got into the box on the right and delivered a pass to the front of goal for Benny Feilhaber, whose shot from seven yards crashed off the crossbar.

The Rapids (4-3-2) have now earned five points from their last three games, while New England (2-3-4) has won only once in its last seven matches.
