Houston ends losing streak with point at RSL
May 15, 2011 - 3:12 AM Sandy, UT (Sports Network) - The Houston Dynamo battled to a scoreless draw with Real Salt Lake in Major League Soccer action at Rio Tinto Stadium on Saturday.The game was fairly uneventful, without many legitimate scoring opportunities for either club.
RSL's best chance came just after a hour mark when Alvaro Saborio ran onto an Arturo Alvarez through-ball and slotted home, but he was ruled to be offside by half-a-step.
Houston's best chance came two minutes from time when Andre Hainault led a breakout that was capped off with a Koke shot, but RSL goalkeeper Nick Rimando was up to the task and knocked the shot out of danger.
The shutout is RSL's fifth in seven games this season.
Houston (3-3-4), which snapped a two-game losing streak to earn the road point, hosts Red Bull New York next Saturday, while RSL (5-1-1) plays at FC Dallas a day later in its next MLS fixture.
