Dynamo snap seven-game winless run with victory over Chivas USA

Jun 12, 2011 - 2:47 AM Houston, TX (Sports Network) - The Houston Dynamo snapped a seven-game winless run by topping Chivas USA, 2-1, at Robertson Stadium on Saturday night.

Chivas USA actually scored the game's first goal just seven minutes in when Marcos Mondaini blasted a left-footed shot into the bottom right corner.

The goal was the first for Chivas USA in nine games in Houston, a span of five years.

But the Dynamo got the equalizer just before the half-hour mark when Geoff Cameron skipped a Brad Davis free kick inside the left post with his back to goal. It was Cameron's second goal of the season.

Houston got some luck on the winner in the 55th minute when a Davis corner kick from the right was cleared by a defender right into Chivas USA defender Heath Pearce and past goalkeeper Dan Kennedy for an own goal on Pearce.
