Dallas, Colorado share points in four-goal second half
Jun 2, 2013 - 3:17 AM Commerce City, CO (Sports Network) - The Colorado Rapids and FC Dallas both continued good runs of form on Saturday as Atiba Harris and Blas Perez traded second-half braces in a 2-2 draw at Dick's Sporting Goods Park.It was a tale of two halves as the first half saw neither side record a shot on goal, while the two combined to score all four goals in the span of 10 minutes after the break.
The result gives Dallas seven points from its last four matches, while the Rapids extended their unbeaten streak to six games.
It took until the 56th minute for the match to come to life and the opener came from a throw-in as Marvell Wynne launched a long one into the area for Harris to turn home with his head.
Dallas responded five minutes later when Michel's free kick was parried by goalkeeper Clint Irwin, allowing Perez to pounce on the rebound and sneak the ball past the netminder.
Another set piece restored Colorado's lead in the 64th when Chris Klute flicked the ball on for Harris to finish from six yards, but the scoring wasn't done.
Just two minutes later, Perez earned his team a point when he took a pass from Jackson and fired the ball into the bottom left corner of the net from 25 yards.
It was a frantic 10 minutes for both teams, but neither could muster up another goal as the final 20 minutes played out without a serious threat.
