FCD handles Chivas USA

Mar 23, 2014 - 2:48 AM Frisco, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - FC Dallas struck three times inside the final 20 minutes of play on Saturday to come away with a 3-1 victory over Chivas USA at Toyota Stadium.

FC Dallas got the scoring started in the 71st minute with some set-piece magic as Mauro Diaz lofted a free kick into the area that was nodded on by Hendry Thomas before being deftly guided past Chivas goalkeeper Dan Kennedy by Fabian Castillo.

Seven minutes later the hosts doubled their advantage as JeVaughn Watson ran onto a through ball down the right flank, rounded Kennedy and slid it into the bottom left corner.

Chivas USA pulled one back in the 82nd minute as Erick Torres turned home a cross from Kristopher Tyrpak, but FCD regained its two goal margin in the 86th minute when Michel snuck a free kick under the wall and past a diving Kennedy to seal all three points.
