Union, Dynamo play to scoreless draw

Apr 19, 2014 - 10:06 PM Chester, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Philadelphia Union and Houston Dynamo played to a 0-0 draw at PPL Park on Saturday as both sides continue to struggle to find wins.

The Dynamo entered the match on a three-game losing streak, while Philadelphia has now drawn four of its last five matches with the club coming off of a 2-1 midweek defeat to Red Bull New York.

Will Bruin had Houston's best chance of the game in the 38th minute when the Union failed to clear a corner kick, allowing the forward to smack a shot off the near post.

The Union created a good opportunity in the 51st minute when Andrew Wenger drove into the penalty area and squared the ball to Conor Casey, but he slipped as he attempted a first-time shot with goalkeeper Tally Hall out of position.

Houston had to play the final eight minutes of the game with 10 men as Kofi Sarkodie received a second yellow card for time wasting. And the hosts nearly took advantage when Wenger smashed a loose ball over the net from eight yards with Hall at his mercy in stoppage time.
