Vancouver's drought continues in draw with DCU
Sep 7, 2014 - 4:13 AM Vancouver, BC (SportsNetwork.com) - Vancouver Whitecaps FC's goal drought continued on Saturday as the club was held to a 0-0 home draw by D.C. United.Scoring chances were at a premium for both sides as United did well to stifle the 'Caps, who were noticeably low on confidence.
Vancouver was unable to find the back of the net with its three shots on target, extending its current goalless streak to 411 minutes.
The draw sees Vancouver (7-6-13) go level with the Portland Timbers on 34 points apiece, though Caleb Porter's men can put daylight between the two clubs with a positive result against the San Jose Earthquakes on Sunday.
D.C. United (14-8-5) stays atop the Eastern Conference by improving to 47 points.
