Neagle lifts Sounders past FCD at CenturyLink

Jun 14, 2015 - 4:05 AM Seattle, WA (SportsNetwork.com) - Lamar Neagle netted a second-half goal and added a late assist on Saturday as Seattle Sounders FC rolled to a comfortable 3-0 victory over FC Dallas at CenturyLink Field.

Coming off a 1-0 loss to Sporting Kansas City last week, Seattle returned home hoping to get back on the winning track, but FC Dallas proved a worthy opponent in the first half as forward Fabian Castillo terrorized the left side of the Seattle defense, creating numerous scoring chances.

Seattle's defense held on in the first half as the clubs went into the break scoreless.

The home side regrouped in the intermission and came out with the better of the play in the second period, opening the scoring in the 55th minute.

Neagle, the Seattle native, struck first as he got on the end of a feed from defender Brad Evans and fired past Dallas goalkeeper Dan Kennedy for his third goal of the season.

The Sounders doubled the lead in the 73rd minute as Martins, the Nigerian international, got on the end of a pass from Andy Rose and slotted home his seventh goal of the campaign.

Neagle turned provider in stoppage time, as his pass to Leonardo Gonzalez allowed Gonzalez to fire home a third goal and seal all three points in style.

FC Dallas, meanwhile, continues to struggle as the defeat stretches the club's winless run to five matches.
