Veteran M Carroll re-signs with D.C. United

Jan 23, 2007 - 8:53 PM WASHINGTON (Ticker) -- Midfielder Brian Carroll on Tuesday re-signed with D.C. United at undisclosed terms.

Carroll, 25, had one goal and three assists in 31 games last season, his fourth with United.

"We are very pleased to have reached an agreement to keep Brian at D.C. United," United technical director Dave Kasper said. "He has been an integral part of our team's success during the last several years, and we look forward to him playing a big role in helping us to achieve our future goals."

The 11th overall draft selection in 2003, Carroll has two goals and seven assists in 93 career games - all with United. The Springfield, Virginia native led the club with 2,779 minutes last season.

"As a player that has grown up in the shadows of RFK Stadium, I'm happy that Brian will remain with D.C. United," United co-managing partner Will Chang said. "Brian is a credit to our organization both on and off of the field, and we look forward to his continued contributions."
