Beckerman blast gives RSL win at S.J.
Mar 20, 2011 - 4:42 AM Santa Clara, CA (Sports Network) - Real Salt Lake earned a 1-0 victory at the San Jose Earthquakes in a wet and rainy opener to the 2011 Major League Soccer season for both clubs.After the teams battled to a fairly uneventful scoreless first half, Kyle Beckerman made it 1-0 RSL with a low, hard shot that skipped off the wet turf, then off 'Quakes goalkeeper Jon Busch's fingertips, then off the post and in.
RSL (1-0-0) will aim go 2-0 when it hosts the Los Angeles galaxy next Saturday, while San Jose (0-1-0) plays at FC Dallas the same night in its next MLS fixture.
