Despite being up a man the entire second half, San Jose wasn't able to generate any offense, and the Union started coming to life toward the end of the game.
With 20 minutes to play, Le Toux had the game's best chance to that point in the game after great pass from Carlos Ruiz gave him space momentarily in the box. But San Jose defender Sam Cronin slide in to tackle the bal away with no damage.
About five minutes later the Union's Amobi Okugo took on a number of defenders in the box before being forced to the end line. he then tired to play a cross into the six, but the referee ruled it was blocked away by a handball.
Le Toux took the penalty and easily slotted home.
