Hartman preserves point for Dallas against D.C.

May 8, 2011 - 1:59 AM Washington, D.C. (Sports Network) - Kevin Hartman made three saves, including a point-blank stop on Fred with just over minute remaining in normal time, and FC Dallas tied D.C. United, 0-0, on Saturday in Major League Soccer.

Fred turned a header from inside the six-yard box toward Hartman's left post, but the veteran goalie shifted over to deflect the ball away and preserve his second shutout of the season and a point for Dallas (3-3-2).

United (3-4-2) goalie Bill Hamid made two saves for his second shutout of the season in just six starts. D.C.'s best scoring chances of the game came in the first half, when Charlie Davies and Andy Najar both had shots blocked.

D.C. also plays its next match at RFK Stadium, as the Colorado Rapids visit on May 14. Dallas, which is unbeaten in three straight, returns to Pizza Hut Park on Wednesday to host Toronto FC.
